Well, I have food (and more food) left from the Christmas meal. My next move will be to try some creative way to ensure that they turkey doesn't taste like turkey and the ham doesn't get to dry when reheating it.
Why is Thanksgiving and Christmas so close together? Is it that we get an overpopulation of Turkey's in November and December? And it's America's way of population control........by eating zillions of turkey dinners? :-)
SO...... what can I do so that the leftovers don't taste like leftovers?
My goals here are:
Use the leftovers before they become pet food.
Have delicious, healthy meals that doesn't make use feel like we've been eating the same thing for days.
First left over:
We had ham/bone in. Well there is still a lot of meat left on the bone so I'll be making a pot of pinto beans and seasoning it with the ham bone, and throwing in a little of the left over ham.
Still talking ham here......and I have a package of crescent rolls also. I'm going to open the crescents, chop the ham, sprinkly the chopped ham on the crescent rolls along with a little cheddar cheese, roll them up and bake them.
Tomorrow I'll talk 'turkey'.
