It's not quite the new year yet but let me wish you a happy one just the same.
I thought tonight would be a 'bean' left over night but instead we went out to eat with my parents and son. Applebees! What I really wanted was their steak and shrimp parmesan. But back in October I had an allergic reaction to shrimp and now have to keep an 'EPIE pin' with me and I have been instructed to stay away from shellfish. LOL I love shell fish!
So I had a quesadilla burger....it was delicious and has inspired me to create my own recipe at home. As soon as I try it and if it turns out I'll blog the recipe.
So I have a cuz down in Sacramento who bought bushels of apples and onions and I told him I would blog some recipes for him.
Well cuz for the onions just type in onion recipes and in your responses should be a page for recipesource.com they had a whole lot of recipes and some sounded down right delish! Let me know if you try any, which ones and how they were.
Now the apples, well I actually heard someone mention a salad with apples and walnuts and that sounded really really good to me but I was busy and didn't stop to see what they were talking about.
There is always the apple stuffed pork chop, or the apple stuffing. And although you don't want me to say it you could always bake me an apple pie! LOL OH and I LOVE apple butter.
Talking apple butter I just ran across a recipe where you take ground pork sausage and roll into meatballs - with no fillers- bake them, mix 2 tbsp apple butter with 1 tsp maple syrup and mix your cooked meat balls in it then bake some more to heat the coating. They were really yummy, but with out the fillers....they over cook and get dried out real quick so be careful when reheating them.
I think for apple recipes I would go to allrecipes.com and do a search by ingredients, you can list the ingredients you want and don't want. But don't forget I am always up for some apple pie and apple butter!
OK folks stay safe and blog your best onion or apple recipe for Sacramento cuz!
till then.........
